Here we are, one more month left in the year. While it is true that a number of the ‘heavy hitters’ of the year have already been released, there are still a bunch of great titles coming this month to be excited for. Here is our rundown of the five games we think you should be most excited about this month.
The Last Guardian
The time has finally come for the world to experience this game. Many have been waiting for almost a decade to play this title. Development started in 2007 and has been off and on, delayed, postponed, but it is here. Experience this world alongside your large feathered friend Trico. You will control the young boy as you explore, solve puzzles, and more. After all this time and all of the hype will the game deliver? We will have to find out when the game releases on December 6.
Extreme sports games have had an interesting past. The Tony Hawk and Cool Boarders series come to mind as titles that were popular in this genre as friends gathered together to watch others try to pull off crazy tricks or win downhill races. Ubisoft is taking the genre to the mountain in an open world multiplayer focused package. Players can take part in skiing, snowboarding, paragliding, and wingsuiting. With a robust set of features this game may open the doors to a new generation of extreme sports games with possibly more locals and sports. Try it for yourself when the game comes out December 2.
Dead Rising 4
Just in time for Christmas Dead Rising with hero Frank West returns with another addition to the series. Set in a Christmas theme you can once again spend the holidays taking down the undead with a vast array of weapons such as the candy cane crossbow that you can obtain as a pre-order bonus. Celebrate the spirit of the season by wiping out hordes of zombies when the game becomes available on December 6.
Super Mario Maker (3DS)
It is time to get creative on the go with this release. This is a port of the WiiU game of the same name. While some features are changed from the WiiU version such as the removal of the Mystery Mushroom and Big Mushroom. There are other features added such as the over 100 preloaded levels. If you are a fan of Mario Maker and want to play on the go or just want the newest edition of the game, you can get your hands on it December 2.
Virtual Reality is entering more and more homes, and with many likely picking up a VR set for themselves this holiday season I thought I would include a game I have been excited to see since learning about it at E3 this year. Eagle Flight is set in post apocalyptic France as the player flies around as an eagle trying to fight for nesting space. There is also a multiplayer mode where you can fight against your friends. Grab this game now on PSVR or Windows, or you can get it this month if you are a Vive user when it releases on December 20.
