The top five games we are looking forward to in October

As we get closer to the red hot holiday season, the studios bring out the heavy hitters. Here are five games that we think will make the biggest splash next month.

Gears of War 4

The next edition in the Gears of War saga rolls out on October 11 (October 7 if you purchase the special edition) Face the latest threat to humanity while playing as JD Fenix, the son of Marcus. You will go toe to toe with new enemies as this story continues the timeline of the previous games 25 years after the events of Gears of War 3.

Battlefield 1

The series goes back in time to the days of World War I to give you a thrill while you play through a story based around the events of the day. Players will encounter flamethrowers, mustard gas, and other threats. Continuing the tradition of expansive vehicle combat, players will get the chance to ride, and kill, on horseback, fly biplanes, and even pilot zeppelin as they fight in locales from Europe to the deserts of the Middle East. The game releases on October 21.

Titanfall 2

Respawn Entertainment is looking to expand on the success of the first game by answering the call of the players by adding a full fledged single player campaign to the game. You will be playing as Jack Cooper, a simple rifleman who teams up with BT-7274, a titan. With more titans added to the lineup, an expansion on the already high mobility gameplay, and other new features, the sequel already looks to be a worthy successor to the previous game that gives fans the features they have been waiting for. Titanfall 2 releases on October 28.

Skylanders Imaginators

The popular toy-to-life game continues to expand on prior success as Kaos, the villain, has found a way to create an army of doomlanders. Portal masters now have the chance to create their own customized Skylanders who will team up with the senseis to save Skylands from this threat. You will also have the chance to play with Crash Bandicoot this time, and if you pre-order, you can also get your hands on a Kaos toy as well. The game releases on October 13.

Mafia III

In the newest iteration of the game, Hanger 13 looks to tackle hard issues of race and more as you play as Lincoln clay, a Vietnam vet looking to start a new life after the war. Look for a lot of interesting gunplay in this game as you build up your mob. The game comes out October 7.
