October is promising to have several great titles for you!
We’re back at suggesting what is hot to buy each month, and just in time as holiday season is right around the corner. As we head to October, many of the heavy hitting titles of the year are starting to show their faces. So, here they are, the five games we think you should look at buying next month.
Battle Chasers: Nightwar
This game originated from a successful Kickstarter campaign back in 2015. It is teased as being a classically inspired RPG game which is based on the Battle Chasers comic series. Developer, Airship Syndicate, are looking to excite fans who were left wondering when the comics ended with questions to be answered. The game features randomly generated dungeons to explore, and an exciting art style. You can pick it up for yourself on October 3rd on PC, MAC, PS4, and Xbox One. Just confirmed is a delay for the release on the Nintendo Switch with Airship stating the delay will not be ‘significant’ which hopefully means that switch users can get in on the action soon.
Middle Earth: Shadow of War
Monolith Productions is diving back into the Lord of the Rings universe with this sequel to Shadow of Mordor. This title will continue where the previous game leaves off. This edition promises that the ‘nemesis system’ from the first game is even better. You can now gather follower from various races to build your army. Follow the story of Talion once more as you engage in thrilling combat. The game was shrouded in controversy regarding the DLC that was to commemorate the death of Michael Forgey, former Monolith Executive Producer, but as reported yesterday by various sources, it appears that the developer has nixed plans to offer Forthog Orc-Slayer and will now offer the content free to everyone while publisher, Warner Brothers Interactive, will donate directly to the family. You can pick up the game on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 10.
Gran Turismo Sport
Fans of the series can rejoice again as it is once again time for a new addition to the series. This new edition to the game will bring a stable of 177 cars and 19 track locations with it for players to enjoy. This will also be the first time that the series will feature cars from Porsche. As seems to be the trend with racing games this year, Polyphony Digital is looking to capitalize on the eSports movement in the genre with various live events as well as an FIA sanctioned series. Get ready to get behind the wheel when the game comes out on October 17th exclusively on the PS4.
Assassin’s Creed Origins
The series returns once again, this time taking us to the world of ancient Egypt. This time you will follow the character of Medjay as you continue the long-fought battle between the Assassins and the Templars. This edition of the game promises a revised combat system and an array of weapons at your disposal. You will also be able to engage in naval combat, and instead of the familiar ‘eagle vision’ you will actually have an eagle pet in the game. You can go back in time when the game releases on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 October 27.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
Announced at E3 earlier this year, this game sees you attempting to kick-start the second American revolution. You will get plenty of chances to fight the nazi army with new weapons, the ability to duel weild, and a hatchet, for those up close and personal encounters. Follow the story of BJ Blazkowicz once again and free the American people when the game releases on October 27th on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. If you are a Nintendo Switch user, you will still be able to pick the game when it comes out in 2018.
